When a Huawei phone is lost, you can try to find the location of the phone by following the steps below:12
Try to log in to your Huawei account with another Huawei phone or computer, enter the “Find Device” function, and select the lost phone to locate it.
If the phone is turned off, you can try to use the “Lost Mode” function, which requires another Huawei device or the web version of Huawei Cloud Space.
After turning on “Lost Mode”, you can set messages, ringtones, etc., so that when the device is turned on, you can use this information to help find the phone.
Call the police and report to the local police in time, and provide the phone’s IMEI number, model and other information so that the police can assist in tracking.
It should be noted that in order to protect personal privacy and security, it is recommended to change the password of the Huawei account immediately after the phone is lost and turn on the “Find My Phone” function. In addition, regularly back up your phone data to Huawei Cloud Space or other cloud disks so that you can restore important information when needed.

Conditions for using the lost mode function: the lost device needs to be turned on and connected to the Internet, logged in to the Huawei account, and the search device is turned on.
How to set up the lost mode
Method 1:
Log in through the Cloud Space official website (cloud.huawei.com) with the same Huawei account as the lost device, enter the search device page, select the name of the lost device, and click Lost Mode to set it.
Method 2:
Log in through the Huawei Find Device App with the same Huawei account as the lost device, select the name of the lost device in the device list, and click Lost Mode to set it.
If the lost device has not been set with a lock screen password, you need to set a new digital lock screen password to lock the phone when setting the lost mode. This password is different from the Huawei account password, and only 4-16 digits can be set. If the lost device has been set with a lock screen password, there is no need to set a new lock screen password. (Applicable to EMUI5.0 and above).
When setting Lost Mode, the prompt “Waiting to enter Lost Mode” indicates that the lost device is currently powered off or not connected to the network. The setting can be completed after the device is online.
Waiting to enter Lost Mode only supports saving for 15 days. If the lost device has been powered off or not connected to the network for 15 days, Lost Mode needs to be reset after 15 days.
When setting Lost Mode, Notify me after the device is locked by default. When Lost Mode takes effect, you will receive a text message that the device is locked.
How to cancel Lost Mode
Method 1:
After Lost Mode is successfully set, you need to enter the lock screen password to unlock. After unlocking, the device will enter Super Power Saving Mode and exit this mode.
Scenario 1: Before setting Lost Mode, there is a lock screen password on the device
How to cancel Lost Mode: You can only unlock it with the lock screen password already on your device.
Scenario 2: Before setting Lost Mode, there is no lock screen password on the device
How to cancel Lost Mode: You can only unlock it with the digital password you set when setting Lost Mode.
Method 2:
Log in to the official website of Cloud Space (cloud.huawei.com), log in with the same Huawei account as the lost device, enter the Find Device page, click Lost Mode, and select Turn Off Lost Mode to confirm the turn off. By logging in to the official website of Cloud Space to turn off the Lost Mode, the device will remain in the locked screen state, but your messages, contact information, and the movement track of the device in the last 24 hours will be deleted.
Please keep your lock screen password properly. There is no other way to unlock your device or retrieve your lock screen password.

The device can only dial your reserved mobile phone number with one click when in Lost Mode.
The device does not support the use of NFC when in Lost Mode.
Devices below HarmonyOS 4.0 support shutdown and restart in Lost Mode. Some devices upgraded to HarmonyOS 4.0 and above require the lock screen password to restart the device in Lost Mode. The specific details are subject to the actual operation on the device page.

If the lost device has always met the conditions of device power on, network connection, Huawei account login, and device search, it supports automatic positioning reporting, and the reporting time is about once every 10 minutes (due to the network environment, the reporting of positioning may be delayed). The blue coordinate stamp in the positioning map interface is the movement trajectory of the lost device after setting Lost Mode. After locking your phone using Find Device, change the message on the lost device
Method 1: Change the message on the lost device on the Find Device App
Log in to the Find Device App with the same Huawei account as the lost device, select the name of the lost device in the device list, and modify the message through Lost Mode > Modify Reserved Information.
Method 2: Change the message on the lost device on the Cloud Space official website
Log in to the Cloud Space official website (cloud.huawei.com) on any mobile phone/computer, log in with the same Huawei account as the lost device, enter Find Device and select the name of the lost device, and modify the message through Lost Mode > Modify Reserved Information.
If the device is offline, if the message in Lost Mode is modified, the historical Lost Mode that has been effective will become invalid and will need to wait for the device to be online to take effect again.
